How it works
Alkalark is a portable mineral alkaline water reductor, which reduces neutral or acid water into low alkaline water.
Simply pour water into the container (containing the Alkalark mineral cartridge) and let stand for 3-5 minutes!

How often do I need to change the cartridge?
The life span of the mineral cartridge depends on how frequently it's used and how often it's cleaned. You can expect 24 months of use; however if you treat 4-5 liters of water daily, the lifespan will be reduced to approximately 18+ months.
Does the unit need cleaning?
Alkalark is easily cleaned: just rinse daily, and clean once a week using the special cleaning solution provided.
Are there any adverse effects?
Some people, after drinking alkaline water, may feel the need to urinate frequently. This is a natural symptom, and usually passes with time.
Will it work on 'hard' water?
Yes, if your tap water is high in calcium, Alkalark will still increase the alkalinity, the antioxidant properties and add minerals.
Can tap water be used with the Alkalark system?
Tap water can also be changed to mineral Alkaline Reduced Water; however, a better result is obtained with filtered, purified or bottled water. This is because Alkalark is not a filter. If there are pollutants, chlorine, or harmful bacteria in your tap water, these will not be removed by Alkalark. That said, Alkalark treatment is still a tremendous improvement over drinking straight tap water. You will be drinking water which helps balance your alkalinity and provides you with a powerful antioxidant.
Is it OK to use hot water with Alkalark?
It's recommended to use water at a temperature under 40 C (122 F); otherwise the life span of the mineral cartridge may be shortened.
Is it OK to leave water in the Alkalark overnight?
At night it is perfectly fine to leave water in your Alkalark. Personally I normally fill my Alkalark at night and drink it first thing in morning. If you were not going to be using the Alkalark for a lengthy period then you should drain it and let the minerals dry off to preserve their lifespan.
Is it normal for the minerals to dull down slightly?
Yes it is normal for the minerals to dull down slightly. It is important that you regularly clean the minerals with the cleaning solution, at least on a weekly basis. If you find due to the characteristics of the water you are using in the Alkalark that the minerals are getting particularly dull (often due to a precipitate from the water) then increase the frequency of cleaning. After cleaning make sure you rinse the minerals well.
