Types of juice extractor

There are different types of juice machines available, ranging from basic to expensive hi-tech power juicers. The first thing to do is understand how they work so that you can juice the right juice machine for your needs.

The Centrifugal Juicer

The centrifugal juicer first grinds the fruit and vegetables then pushes them through the strainer. The more affordable juicer is centrifugal and it is usually the one that you see in most department stores.  It produces less juice than masticating juicers as less of the pulp is used, but it is a good choice for families on limited budgets.

The higher-end L'Equip Centrifugal Juicer  was given as a gift to a friend and she uses it make fresh juice for her family every day. It is one of the highest-quality centrifugal juicers designed to provide the most power and highest efficiency (600 watts and 10,000 RPMs) than any other juicer in its class.

The Masticating Juicer

Masticating juicers work by chewing the fibers and breaking up the cells of vegetables and fruits into a paste and then squeezing the juice out through a screen. The pulp slides out the tapered end. This gives you a healthier drink which contains more fiber, enzymes, vitamins and trace minerals.

It also is more versatile because in addition to extracting juices, you can make baby foods, fruit ice creams, fruit sorbets, sauces, and nut butters. An optional grain mill attachment is available for grinding grains into flour.  The Champion Juicer below is a masticating juicer.
